Moments

he died;

moments ago, he lived.

mute, motionless, mightless

he lies on the floor,

the floor that was being dug

to bury the treasure –

will now hold the soulless

caricature.

Eternity

The child to her mother

and son to his father

and ambition to the shallow

are eternal.

About the Poet:

Alka Mishra is a student of class 12 and she studies at Nalanda Mahila College, Biharsharif. Her interest in poetry remains as old as her introduction to it in the early academic days. Her attempts at poetry found no readers unless her poems were received by us a few days ago and here we are!
