Nidhi Sharma is an accomplished academician and a poet. She writes in Hindi as well as in English. Her writings are in the synchronisation with the modern symphony as well as matching the footsteps with the older values. Enjoy her poems below.

Of course, I starve.
But I starve in a different way.
Not food, nor money
It’s love I starve for.

Dignity which gives me strength
Freedom that helps me fly
Motivation, appreciation
It’s respect I starve for.
Consume the air
Run wild on green
Eat up books and poems
And those words
Never seen
Time to fill me up
Time to burn me high
From ashes
Phoenix will rise
I could fly in sky
I could fly very high
But no wings to give me power
I m tired of struggling
I want the rain to shower
Ohh yes
I starve,
But I starve in a different way.
Terror
Where are the seeds
Where are the trees
Destruction all around
Blood seeps in roots
Hatred begets hatred
Let compassion rebound

Innocence crying

Hurling in pain
Wan and pale
Faces grew
Death and cries
Dances of fire
Let us find peace
Buried in ground
Difficult indeed
But do forgive
Do forget
Your Son
My brother
His child.
Alas!!!
Their bodies mound
That agony that wound
That pain that loss
Bear it and keep
Don’t transfer and
Rejoice that pain
Bullets and Bombs
Please..
Stop that sound.
