Puja Ghosh is an English Honours student who studies literature and language. She likes writing and reading poetry. With a constant want for betterment, she keeps composing her poems and looks for the advice of elders in the field. Here are her two poems. Please read them below:

Pen and Paper

Turning and turning, Frustrated Self

Tear up page after page, thinking –

Not this, not that, not these.

Long held pen, between fingers,

Yearns some rest, see there –

Left open on the page, seems to be

Dried up, by the heat of Frustrated mind.

Lacking words, not thoughts, to be drawn

The Frustrated Self does drag it on page.

Midnight’s conscious mind moans –

If not the flood of words,

Then at least a rivulet of keen flow.

Dawn! Dawn! Dawn has come,

But not a ray of word,

To the self, to the page,

But the page is not blank.

Song of Decay

Day by day, I grow pale and paler

More I want to blaze up

More I become the ashes

Blazing aspirations lie in my heart

By engaging the storm to put off the sparks

The devil takes pleasure in dark – the world of ashes

HAD Lustrous eyes of beauty, but Alas!

Why are those shines now?

The older I become,

The more beauty to lose!

Harmonious Heart wants to sing

The song of beauty

But, body gives a red alert – a song

The song of decay
