Ansulika Paul is a poet, a writer and a lecturer. She has few poems, book reviews, short-stories and research papers to her credit. At present, she is working as a lecturer in Chhattisgarh. Her poems are a portrayal of the different spheres of life; her words speak even the hardest of truth in a very polite and convincing manner.

The Last Breathe

Sinking down into the bosom of death,

Life remembers not the pain or wrath.

There is calm quiet me, inside,

A me in rest; a me in flight.

There is peace in and around,

Life is moving to a sacred town.

I have nothing much to utter,

There is no desire of desire to splutter.

There is no wish to be fulfilled,

No ego to twirl, no fear, no thrill.

There is no regret of any kind,

As I am done with me and mine.

Feel

Can you feel the pain in my heart?

Can you feel the tears in my eyes?

Can you feel the lump on my throat?

Can you feel the sound of my cry?

I know you can when it passes on to you,

When you ask these questions,

To me and others too.

We are all human unless we feel.

Unless we go through it,

We know not how to heal.
